Cooley Distillery – Irish Independence and Innovation

Located at the foot of the Cooley Mountains in County Louth on the east coast of Ireland, Cooley Distillery is one of the most distinctive and innovative distilleries in the modern Irish whiskey world. It was founded in 1987 by businessman and whiskey enthusiast John Teeling, who wanted to challenge the few big players that dominated Irish whiskey production at the time. The distillery produces both single malt, single grain and peated whiskey – something quite unusual in Ireland.
