SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery Co., Ltd. was founded in 1918 in the town of Sakurao in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima. For over a hundred years, our distillation technique has been passed down through the generations, and stories of our long and illustrious history have been shared not only in Hiroshima, but throughout the world. While continuing to respect the traditional techniques cultivated over the years, SAKURAO DISTILLERY embarks on a new endeavor to produce whiskey and white spirit.
The SAKURAO DISTILLERY is located in Hatsukaichi, with the Seto Inland Sea to the south and the Chugoku Mountains to the north. Warm winds from the sea and cold winds from the mountains reach the warehouse in Sakurao, ensuring a large temperature difference is maintained throughout the year. This temperature difference helps to accelerate the whisky maturation process. With an aroma of raisins, oranges, and peaches, this whisky offers a vanilla-like sweetness with moderate bitterness and sourness. Enjoy the pleasant smoky and barrel fragrance along with a long-lasting scent of deep sweetness.
