North Star Bruichladdich Lochindhaal Single Malt Scotch Whisky is part of North Star Spirits’ new range of single cask whiskies, which will make any whisky lover’s head turn a second time. Thank god, there is smoke and more smoke in this “Wee Ladie”. A whisky that takes you back in time, when houses on Islay were without insulation, the heat from wood stoves went to cooking and did not give the body enough heat on a cold winter’s day. You managed that with a “Wee Dram”.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Tar, smoke and heavy malt.
Palate: Hold on to your hat and glasses – HERE is smoke with smoke on it. With a little water it emerges with notes of rich Islay malt, lots of spice/white pepper, hints of iodine rounded off with red apples.
Finish: If you like smoke, lots of smoke, that’s what you’re left with in the aftertaste.
