In ancient times, the land of Yilan was called “Kavalan”, a noble terrain protected by the soaring snow mountain range and the fertile Lanyang Plain. Remote and subtropical, this piece of land lies in the northeastern corner of Taiwan, where abundant rainfall and water filtered through Yilan’s rich volcanic soil collide to provide Kavalan‘s mineral-rich water source. The history and terroir of this land are combined to create this exquisite whisky for you.
About this whisky
Matured in a top quality special edition Oloroso sherry casks, Kavalan Solist Oloroso Sherry is bottled at the distillery, without any colouring or chill-filtration. It is a naturally smooth and rich whisky with a complex character. Clean and complex with multiple layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices, it has some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well.

Palate: Rich, oily and full with pleasant dried fruit and spices that linger on in the mouth plus a hint of fine coffee.
