Firkin Whisky Co. is the brainchild of Mike Collings. He is a former marketing director at Diageo and under his leadership world-famous bottlings such as the Classic Malt, Flora & Fauna series, Rare Malts or Johnny Walker Blue Label were created, to name just a few. Meanwhile, Mike only deals with small but very high quality projects under his own name. The newest is Firkin Whisky Co. – named after the small so-called Firkin casks. The concept is, on the one hand, barrels made of two different staves: French and American oak. The whiskies have subsequently been given an additional finish in various wine or sherry casks.
