Although it is no longer produced in the back room of a St. Louis grocery store, the legacy of David Nicholson lives on at Lux Row Distillers. Drive down the avenue and you’ll be surrounded by 90 hectares of pristine land, an 18th-century stone farm and a state-of-the-art bourbon distillery capable of producing 3 million liters of spirit each year. In the distillery’s bourbon bar, you’ll find David Nicholson sitting on the shelf – with sister brands Rebel Bourbon, Ezra Brooks, Daviess County Bourbon and Blood Oath – just waiting to be poured.
This 100 proof bourbon has a “wheated” mashbill that delivers an exceptionally smooth taste and finish. Rich aromas of honey and butter as well as subtle hints of vanilla and oak are found in the scent. The taste is followed by an unusually smooth start of woody and smoky notes, with a long, warm finish and a touch of spice.
